Marine quality leather is the ground material for this piece, our aim is to disrupt the perception of this familiar material, through transforming its character.
The leather is embroidered with a pattern of autumn hedgerow vegetation, a knife is then used to cut the piece into straps for weaving, slashing the perfect embroidery bringing spontaneity, texture and deconstruction to the disassembled motifs. The leather straps are woven by hand in a tapestry method, reconstructed as the woven leather ground, upon which our leather disc floats.
